Fist Congregational Church

TV Message & Music

First Congregational Church has been broadcasting the sermon – “Message” – along with some of the “Music” from our worship services since December, 1985! This is an invaluable service for our home-bound community members, and we pray you will be blessed by this ministry until you’re able to join us in person.

Tune In: “Traverse City’s Message & Music” is broadcast Sundays at 10:30am on Up North TV, Charter channel 189. Our weekly broadcasts are also available online for about 5-6 weeks after their original air date. To watch previous broadcasts, currently available on Up North Media, click here. Please share this information with any of your friends or family who cannot attend Sunday worship! Please email or call David Russell ( or 231-947-6698) if you have additional questions or comments.

Future Plans for “Message & Music and the First Congregational Church Media Center: We are working, right now, to upgrade all the equipment used to bring you our weekly broadcasts, and to add video streaming of weekly worship services and “on demand” viewing of recent services (not just the sermon and a sampling of music) over the internet. It is our prayer that these improvements will make it easier for our members and friends in the community to experience our worship services streamed (as they happen) or at a time that is more convenient for them.

None of this, the many years of “Traverse City’s Message and Music,” or any of our future plans, would be possible without many dedicated volunteers operating cameras and control room equipment, directing productions, and supporting this over 30 yearlong mission of First Congregational Church with their prayers and financial gifts. If you or someone you know is interested in working with some great people and tech gear to produce high quality Christian programming, or is willing to support our TV and video mission with your prayers or gifts, please call or email me.
