Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity: Habitat for Humanity is a Christian ministry dedicated to eliminating poverty housing. Founded in 1976, Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliates have built and sold more than 200,000 homes to partner families with no-profit, zero-interest mortgages in more than 3,000 communities in 89 nations.

Locally Habitat for Humanity Grand Traverse Region has helped 65 families into simple, decent homes. The affiliate was established in 1987 and has served families in Leelanau, Benzie, Kalkaska and Grand Traverse counties in northern Michigan.

First Congregational Church has worked together in partnership with neighboring congregations to help fund and build a number of Habitat homes. For more information regarding First Congregational Church's Habitat mission team, contact Jim or Linda Keely, 223-7244
